Have you heard of Pando?

It’s not just a tree – it’s an ancient, living wonder. Known as the world’s largest living organism, Pando is a breathtaking aspen colony in Utah, USA. It covers 106 acres and is made up of more than 40,000 genetically identical stems, all connected by a single root system. Thought to be one of the oldest life forms on Earth, it is said to have endured for thousands of years.

Despite its resilience, Pando, is under threat. Climate change, human activity, and invasive species are preventing new growth, putting Pando’s future at risk. Without intervention, this remarkable ecosystem could be lost forever.

We’re committed to giving back to protect the planet for future generations. That’s why we’ve partnered with Friends of Pando, a charity dedicated to protecting and restoring this unique ecosystem.

Who are Friends of Pando?

Friends of Pando is committed to protecting, researching, and restoring the Pando aspen colony. Their vital work includes:

  • Conducting scientific studies to monitor Pando’s health
  • Pioneering habitat restoration through protective fencing and regeneration efforts
  • Raising public awareness through education and advocacy

Right now, parts of Pando are dying off faster than they can regenerate. Friends of Pando is actively working to reverse this trend, and we’re proud to stand alongside them in this crucial conservation effort.

Why Pando matters

Pando is more than just a tree – it’s a living network that supports diverse wildlife and plays a crucial role in carbon storage. However, without sustainable conservation efforts, its decline could have far-reaching consequences for biodiversity and the environment.

Fortunately, conservation efforts are making a difference. By protecting vulnerable sections, planting new shoots, and reducing external threats, researchers have seen signs of recovery. With the right support, Pando can continue to grow for generations to come.

Our commitment to forest conservation

Trees are one of the most powerful tools in the fight against climate change. The average tree absorbs between 10 and 40 kg of carbon over its lifetime.¹ That’s why, for every customer and team member, we plant a tree each month.

And we’re not stopping there. Alongside growing our forest in Scotland, we’re expanding our efforts in 2025 by working with leading environmental organisations to protect vital ecosystems worldwide. By partnering with experts like Friends of Pando, we’re contributing to a healthier, more sustainable planet.

Join us in giving back

By protecting Pando, we’re investing in a greener future. Join us in making a difference, and stay tuned for more updates throughout the year.
